In attendance for the 26 year-old left-hander's Mother's Day gem is his grandmother, who raised him after his mom died of a melanoma during his senior year at Stagg High School in Stockton, California.

Always Dreaming wins 143rd Kentucky Derby

Always Dreaming won the 143rd running of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs, giving trainer Todd Pletcher and jockey John Velazquez their second career Kentucky Derby wins.
